Liverpool are finally ready to let go of midfielder Philippe Coutinho as reports have suggested that they are willing to sell the midfielder to Barcelona.
Coutinho was the subject of the longest transfer drama of the summer as Liverpool rejected three separate bids from Barcelona.
Liverpool held on to the midfielder who handed in a transfer request at a point in a bid to force a move.
The transfer window eventually closed with the midfielder still at Liverpool and now back playing again after he was allowed back into the squad.
Spanish publication SPORT are reporting that Barcelona have still not given up on the chase for the 25-year-old.
According to the report, Liverpool are willing to sell the player when Barcelona return with another huge bid.
Despite returning to the Liverpool squad, Coutinho reportedly still has high hopes of joining the Spanish giants and his representatives have made the player’s wish known to Liverpool.
Now back from injury, Coutinho scored and registered an assist for Liverpool in their 3-2 win over Leicester City on Saturday, September 23 in the Premier League.
Named in Liverpool’s Champions League squad for the 2017/2018 season, Coutinho will not be able to play in Europe should a move to Barcelona happen in the January transfer window.
