Serena Williams has defeated her elder sister, Venus to advance into the semi final of the ongoing Wimbledon Open. The sisters were meeting for the 26th time in their career with current World No. 1, Serena ending the match 6-4, 6-3.

In their 25 previous meetings, Serena has won 14 times while 35-year-old Venus has been victorious on 11 occasions. Before the game, Serena, two years younger, had expressed pessimism by saying Venus is the toughest player she had ever played against.

Venus was returning to the game last year after suffering from a rare medical disorder known as autoimmune.
