Super Eagles striker Emmanuel Emenike’s goal drought has now extended to three games after the AFCON 2013 top scorer drew blank in Fenerbache’s 0-0 draw with Trabzonspor.
Prior to the Turkey Super Liga clash the 27-year-old failed to score in Nigeria’s first two AFCON 2015 qualifiers against Congo and South Africa.
Emenike was on for 90 minutes before he was replaced in time added on by Selcuk Sahin.
His only goal so far came a fortnight ago in Fenerbache’s 3-2 victory over Karabukspor on the August 31.
Still in Turkey, Ex Under-20 captain Gbenga Arokoyo continued his fine form playing for the entire duration for Gaziantepsor as they claim a 2-2 draw against Erciyesspor.
Meanwhile, out of favour Super Eagles midfielder Raheem Lawal was yellow carded on the dot of 90 minutes as his team Eskisehirspor battled to a goalless draw with Galatassary.
On Monday, John Utaka will be aiming to be among the goal scorers when Sivasspor tackle Akhisar Belediye, and Godfrey Obaboana will be gunning for his first appearance of the season when Rizespor visit Besiktas.
